What is the Shopify Partner Program?
The Shopify Partner Program is a way for web designers and developers to offer their expertise to merchants and entrepreneurs to help them build beautiful and functional ecommerce stores.
How does it work?
If you hire us to build your website/store with Shopify, we first will offer you a quote for the design and build services. After you accept the quote, we'll get started building your store to your specifications. Once the store is complete and ready to go live, we will transfer ownership to you. In order to take ownership of the store, and for the store to be able to take orders, you will need to choose a Shopify plan (see Shopify Plans & Pricing below).
Who will own my store?
Once you purchase a Shopify plan when we transfer ownership to you, you will have full ownership of your store. Our role will automatically be switched to "collaborator" so that we can continue to work on your store if needed without using up a staff account (which are limited, depending on which plan you choose). A collaborator account does not have administrative powers and can not change things such as payment info. But we can still do anything you may need us to do, such as add or delete products, or make design changes. As the new store owner, you will be able to revoke our collaborator status at any time, or grant collaborator status to anyone else you choose.
If Shopify is so easy to use, can't I just build the store myself?
You can absolutely build your store yourself! We offer our services for people who can't or don't want to do the design work to make their store look great and convert well. Or for people who don't have the time to build their own store.
Will I need to purchase a website care plan from you?
No. Because Shopify is a hosted solution and comes with instant updates and customer support, it's not necessary to purchase a website care plan from us. Once your store build is finished, we will provide you with an "owner's manual" with instructions for how to manage your store. However, if you need any design changes after project completion, or would like us to add new products for you on a regular basis, it might be cost-effective to buy a website care plan for the included hours, or we can customize a basic plan for your needs.
